Tom Anselmi

Tom Anselmi the Executive Vice President and COO of the giant sports management enterprise Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment. Anselmi was a key figure in the creation and growth of Toronto FC a new franchise in the Major League Soccer organization which is leading soccer to greater prominence in North America.

Tom is responsible for business operations for Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS) and Toronto Marlies (AHL). His key responsibilities include Marketing, Ticket Sales & Service, Corporate Partnerships, Broadcast and New Media, Publishing, Communications, Community Relations and Human Resources as well as team operations for Toronto FC.

He has been Senior Vice President of Business and Chief Management Officer at The Air Canada Centre since July 1999 and serves as its Executive Vice President.  He originally joined MLSE in 1996 as Vice President and Project Director, responsible for the overall development of Air Canada Centre. His responsibilities included management of the design and construction program, as well as the entertainment programs for the Opening Ceremonies for Air Canada Centre and the Closing Ceremonies of historic Maple Leaf Gardens.

Tom at one time served as Vice President and General Manager of Arena Operations for Orca Bay Sports and Entertainment in Vancouver. His responsibilities included the development, start-up and operating phases of General Motors Place, the home of the Vancouver Canucks and former Vancouver Grizzlies franchise in the NBA.

He spent a number of years at Toronto’s SkyDome during the development of the facility and during its initial operating phase.
